Callum Hudson-Odoi has confirmed he will miss the rest of the season after rupturing his Achilles during Chelsea's 2-2 draw against Burnley.

The 18-year-old appeared to sustain an injury when controlling a pass just before the 40-minute mark. He attempted to play on but continued to limp, and it quickly became apparent he would need to be replaced.

Pedro was summoned from the bench and Hudson-Odoi had to be helped by staff members as he hobbled out of the action.

Gianfranco Zola confirmed Hudson-Odoi suffered a 'serious' Achilles injury but believes N'Golo Kante will be 'alright'

N'Golo Kante, who scored Chelsea's first goal in the draw, also came off with a rib injury at half-time but assistant manager Gianfranco Zola didn't expect the France midfielder to miss any further action.

"N'Golo was taken down as he was going on a counter and he fell on the foot of a player so he just had a contusion in his ribs," Zola said.

"He could not breathe properly and that is why he came out. He will be alright. It is not serious."
