Maurizio Sarri says finishing in the top four is just as important as winning the Europa League.

Maurizio Sarri says a top-four finish is just as important for Chelsea as winning the Europa League in their pursuit of Champions League football.

Chelsea progressed to the Europa League semi-finals on Thursday night after overcoming Slavia Prague 5-3 on aggregate, but now their attention turns to domestic matters as they face an in-form Burnley side on Monday Night Football.

Should Chelsea win the Europa League they will secure Champions League qualification. However, Sarri says his side must also secure a top-four finish to guarantee a return to Europe's most prestigious club competition next season.

"It's not time to choose [competitions]," he told Sky Sports.

"It's difficult to get the top four in the Premier League because the level is very high.

"The level will be high in the Europa League in the semi-finals and the final so it's very difficult. We have to try and fight in both ways - the Premier League and Europa League.

"We know that implementing is difficult for us. We have to try to win every match. At the end we will see because the last four-five matches in the Premier League all the teams are very tired.

"It's difficult for us and the other teams so we can see at the end of the season very strange results. So we have to fight and try to win every match and then we will see in the end."

Burnley have won their last three Premier League matches and have all-but guaranteed safety. Sarri is wary of the threat "dangerous" Burnley could pose at Stamford Bridge.

He added: "They played the first half of the season for the Europa league and so they were in difficulty in the first part but now they are another team.

"They are really very dangerous - a physical team. It's not easy but we have to try to win. We need three points so we need to try any way to win."
