Manchester United winger Memphis Depay has thanked assistant manager Ryan Giggs for helping him return to form.
Dutchman Depay had been struggling to recapture the promising start he made since joining from PSV Eindhoven in the summer.
The 21-year-old scored for the first time in six games in Saturday's victory at Watford and he revealed he has been working closely with Giggs in training.
"I think every young player goes through these things but I keep training and enjoying it," Depay said.
"The stuff I am learning has stuck with me and Ryan Giggs has given me good advice. I've been working on some things with him.
"You need that backing and you need to back yourself and train well, and of course all the help is great to get through difficult times.
"I like to score goals. It was important for me to score when I got a chance. I was happy."
The win on Saturday lunchtime saw United briefly move top of the Premier League before they were leapfrogged by Leicester by 5pm, and Jesse Lingard believes United have made another statement of their intent to win the title.
"It's a statement to the other teams. It puts a bit more pressure on them and it's a good feeling to be back up there," Lingard said.
"There are a lot of games coming up; we've got a lot of injuries at the moment and have to adapt to that, I thought we did that well today. As long as we win as many games as we can over Christmas, I think we'll be fine."
United, who top their Champions League group, face PSV at Old Trafford on Wednesday in their fifth Group B fixture.
