Manchester United's Anthony Martial is Europe's Golden Boy for 2015

Manchester United striker Anthony Martial has been named as Europe's best young player winning the 2015 Golden Boy award.

The French international was selected following a vote by journalists from 30 newspapers across Europe to name the best player under the age of 21, and he beat off competition from Bayern Munich's Kingsley Coman and Arsenal's Hector Bellerin to claim the prize.

Martial has enjoyed a fantastic year, impressing for Monaco with 12 goals in 41 appearances last season before a £57.6m move to Old Trafford on transfer deadline day in September.

After a terrific start to his Manchester United career the striker made his international debut in September and has gone on to win six caps for his country and force his way into Didier Deschamps thinking for Euro 2016.

The 20-year-old scored within 20 minutes of coming on as a sub for his United debut against Liverpool and went on to hit four goals in his first four appearances for the club, claiming September's Player of the Month award.

Martial becomes the third United player to win the award after Wayne Rooney (2004) and Anderson (2008).
