Manchester United have rejected a bid from Lyon for Memphis Depay.

It is understood the bid was in the region of £13m.

United boss Jose Mourinho has made it clear the club are happy for Depay to leave on a permanent deal this window but the French club have not met United's valuation for the Dutchman.

The 22-year-old moved to Manchester from PSV Eindhoven for £25m in June 2015 and made 45 appearances under Louis van Gaal, scoring seven goals in the process.

But he has found himself frozen out under Mourinho, with Depay playing in just nine matches this season, only four of which came in the Premier League.

The news comes on the day United reached an agreement with Everton for midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin, who, along with Depay, had been told he would be allowed to leave Old Trafford if a suitable offer came in.
