Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has done an "incredible job" at Manchester United, says Gary Neville, and the Sky Sports pundit would like him to get the full-time job.
Solskjaer has won his first seven games in charge at Old Trafford to enhance United's hopes of finishing in the top four this season, and the club have been praised for an attacking style of play under the Norwegian.
Speaking exclusively to Sky Sports after the announcement that fellow Class of '92 member David Beckham had purchased a 10 per cent share in Salford City, Neville believes that Solskjaer could be the main for the permanent post should his fine run of form continue.
He said: "Ole has done an incredible job at Manchester United over the last six weeks - far better than I could have imagined. Tottenham was a huge game and are a huge team who we've all loved watching.
"But in that first half, he changed to a diamond and changed the shape. He was bold and took risks and it paid off - that's what Manchester United is about and he's delivered brilliantly.
"Let's judge it [who should get the full-time United job] at the end of the season - he would want that. The idea that it's an audition every week for him to get the job is wrong.
"Personally, I hope he gets the job but from a fan perspective I want Manchester United to appoint the very best person for the job - that could be Ole at the end of the season if he continues to do what he's doing now."
