Blackburn defender ready for crucial match

Stephen Warnock believes Manchester United will be anxious about their crucial trip to Blackburn. United are five points clear at the top of the Premier League and victory at Ewood Park would put them on the brink of securing the title. However, it is also an important match for Blackburn after they lost ground in the race for Europe with a 3-1 defeat to Liverpool at the weekend. "They won't fancy coming to our place, and I think once we know we've got our tails up and we're disappointed with ourselves, we usually bounce back stronger and hopefully we'll do that on Saturday and we'll put in a good performance," Warnock told the club's official website. "Anyone can beat everyone in this league and everyone knows that. Results will go our way and results will go against us for the next couple of games and we understand that. "All we can do is our job and hopefully that will be enough."

Benchmark

Warnock insists it is vital for Blackburn to finish the season strongly to give them momentum ahead of next term. "We've got four games left and we need to get results out of them. "We need as many points as we can get and we want to finish as high as we can in the league. We need to set ourselves a benchmark for next year to beat. "Last season was an up and down finish and we don't want that again. We've got to improve on that and we've got to have a strong finish to the season to give ourselves something positive to go into pre-season with."
