Manchester United will be hoping to get their first UEFA Champions League Group C win under their belt against Otelul Galati on Tuesday. The Red Devils have made a stuttering start to their European campaign having followed up their draw away to Benfica by being held on home soil to Basel last time out. United were in firm control against the Swiss outfit thanks to a double from Danny Welbeck, but a second-half fightback saw the visitors leading at Old Trafford only for Ashley Young to snatch a late 3-3 draw. Otelul have no points from their opening two Group C fixtures having lost 2-1 away to Basel before slumping to a 1-0 defeat on home soil to Benfica. As their home stadium holds just 13,500 the game has been moved 118 miles away as the game is being played in Bucharest's 55,600-capacity national stadium. It is estimated around 1,000 United fans will watch what will only be United's second trip to Romania, having beaten Dinamo Bucharest in a qualifier seven years ago.

Red Devils news

Star striker Wayne Rooney is set to be restored to United's starting XI having featured off the bench against Liverpool with manager Sir Alex Ferguson confirming: "He'll be playing." England international Rio Ferdinand, who was also rested for their away game at Benfica last month, has been omitted from United's squad for their trip to Romania. Nemanja Vidic returns to the backline after Ferguson decided not the risk the Serbian in last weekend's draw with Liverpool following his recent recovery from a calf injury. Bulgarian hit-man Dimitar Berbatov, who also missed the Anfield contest, is included in the squad while Phil Jones has recovered from a knock he picked up in Saturday's 1-1 draw. Midfielder Tom Cleverley (foot) and Brazilian defender Rafael (shoulder) remain on the sidelines, although they are nearing a return to full fitness.
Galati news
The home side have not been in the best of form this season, as they are currently in a mid-table position in their local standings. The Romanian champions have only two wins from seven home games this season, and have lost five of their last nine competitive fixtures. Manager Dorinel Munteanu is boosted ahead of the game by the news that Cornel Rapa and Gabriel Paraschiv returned from injury on Friday.
