Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea insists he was not dropped for last weekend's win over Sunderland, but was just rested by Sir Alex Ferguson.
De Gea was left out of the starting XI for the 1-0 victory over the Black Cats with Anders Lindegaard making a rare start between the sticks.
The former Atletico Madrid man has found his form under scrutiny since arriving at Old Trafford, but the Spaniard has rejected suggestions he was axed for the weekend win.
"I didn't play in the past weekend but Ferguson told me it was just so I could rest. He's an incredible coach and without doubt the best in the world," De Gea told
Cadena Ser.
De Gea also believes he has learned a lot already in his short time in England, admitting it is more professional than Spain
"What I have learned since the summer in England is more than most of my professional career in Spain," added De Gea.
"It is another world in all of the concepts."
Title battle
Meanwhile, De Gea has warned Manchester City that the Premier League title race is far from over.
City hold a five-point lead over their bitter rivals and they outlined their title credentials with a stunning 6-1 win over United at Old Trafford last month.
However, De Gea is refusing to panic and insists United can still beat City to the championship.
"United can still win it all. It's still not decided that City will finish first," insisted De Gea.
