Midfielder mulling over 12-month extension at Old Trafford

Oliver Norwood has been offered a one-year contract extension at Manchester United after impressing during a loan spell at Coventry. The 21-year-old midfielder suffered the pain of relegation out of the Championship with the Sky Blues on Saturday, but he will be heading back to Old Trafford this summer. Fresh terms will be waiting for him, with United keen to tie him down for another 12 months. Norwood, who has won five caps for Northern Ireland, is another product of the Red Devils' famed academy system.

Dream

He is yet to make his senior bow for United, but has picked up vital Football League experience during loan stints at Carlisle, Scunthorpe and Coventry. "I have an offer for another year at Manchester United," said Norwood. "It's my big dream to play for United - but I want to have a successful career, wherever that is. "Every footballer just wants to be able to play football."
