Thibaut Courtois insists he is happy at Chelsea and has had no contact over a possible move to Real Madrid.

The 24-year-old goalkeeper has previously said he would like to return to La Liga in the future, having spent three seasons on loan at Atletico Madrid, but would wait until the final year of his contract to make a decision on leaving Stamford Bridge in summer 2018.

Courtois is currently on international duty with Belgium ahead of their World Cup Qualifier against Estonia on Sunday, live on Sky Sports 1, but has spoken out to confirm his club status after reports linking him with a transfer to Real Madrid.

He told Spanish radio station Cadena Cope: "I never had anything with Real Madrid. I did not see anything published, but I never had any contact with Real Madrid.

"I am happy at Chelsea. Everything is going very well - it is a great club. There is no reason not to be happy at Chelsea. You never know what will happen in the future, but at the moment I am very well, in a very good atmosphere."

Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone had wanted to make Courtois' loan move permanent in 2014, but after Chelsea opted to bring the goalkeeper back, Simeone brought in Jan Oblak - who signed a new five-year deal in February.

Courtois, who considers himself half-Spanish, said: "There was never any talk about a possible return to Atletico. Oblak is doing very well and I am happy about that. These are rumours that come out from people who do not know anything."

In another interview with Onda Cero, he added: "Perhaps one day I can return - who knows? But right now I'm very happy at Chelsea.

"I wish Atleti the best. I miss Madrid, I left many friends there, but I knew my future was in England."

Courtois believes he has improved since returning to Chelsea and is eager to win silverware under Antonio Conte.

"The team is doing well right now," Courtois added. "I want to win the title with Chelsea."
