Jose Mourinho has denied falling out with Eden Hazard before being sacked by Chelsea during his second spell with the club.

Reports in the national press had suggested a breakdown in their relationship in the weeks leading up to Mourinho's dismissal in December 2015.

Mourinho had led Chelsea to the Premier League title during the previous season, with Hazard playing a leading role, scoring 14 goals and providing nine assists in 38 matches.

When asked about the alleged fallout, the former Chelsea boss told beIN Sports: "No, no, Hazard with me was voted the best player in the Premier League. He won the award.

"No, no way. I have a good relationship with him."

Hazard revealed at the end of the 2015/16 season that he had sent a text message to Mourinho apologising for his poor form.

The Belgium international has less than 15 months remaining on his contract at Chelsea and has yet to sign an extension.
