Liverpool finished top of Group B in the Europa League following an uneventful 0-0 draw with FC Sion on Thursday night.

Divock Origi had the best chance of the game for Liverpool early in the first half from close range, but both sides were eventually happy with a draw, with Sion qualifying for the round of 32 in second place.

Jordan Henderson returned to the first eleven for Liverpool along with Divock Origi, while Philippe Coutinho made the bench.

And they could have been one up after seven minutes through Origi, who could not get a firm enough touch at the far post from three yards after Brad Smith's fine ball across goal.

Origi then hit a fine effort from 25 yards just wide of the Sion goal in an otherwise uneventful first period.

The second half continued in the same breath, with Origi again getting on the end of a Smith centre, only for the ball to fall harmlessly into Sion goalkeeper Andris Vanins' hands.
