Kolo Toure hopes the younger players in Liverpool's squad can enjoy the experience of the club's Europa League final on Wednesday.
Liverpool take on back-to-back Europa League winners, Sevilla, in Basel knowing that a win would secure them a place in Champions League qualification next season.
The Liverpool squad has an average age of 25, the second youngest in the Premier League, and in what looks to be a season-defining tie for the Reds, Toure says he wants the younger players in squad to enjoy the occasion.
"To get to the final of the Europa League is really tough but you need to enjoy that," he said.
"You have to give everything you've got on the day, enjoy the journey because you remember this journey for all your years, and people will talk about it at the end of your career."
Toure signed a two-year deal with Liverpool before the start of the 2013/14 season meaning his contract is set to expire at the end of the season and with his future at the club in doubt, the 35-year-old says he is focussed on ending the season on a high.
"I just try to enjoy the time as much as possible," he added.
"I've played 15 years of my career and you don't get in this kind of situation really often [a European cup final], this is my second time in a European final and that shows how tough it is."
He added: "Give everything you've got on the day, enjoy the journey because you remember this journey for all your years and people will talk about it at the end of your career.
"That's what I would try to do and that's what I'd like to tell the young players."
