Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says he is in good health despite being admitted to hospital earlier this week

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has thanked NHS staff for their friendly treatment after he underwent tests in hospital earlier this week.

Klopp felt unwell on Wednesday morning and admitted himself to hospital after speaking to club doctor Andrew Massey.

However, after undergoing a series of tests, Klopp was allowed home that night and was well enough to oversee training at Melwood on Thursday.

"I feel really good. Okay, I'm 50 now - maybe I need to get used to it," joked Klopp at a press conference ahead of Southampton's trip to Anfield on Saturday.

"That's the second time I've been in a British hospital. Whatever people say about it, the NHS, it's not as bad as you think!

"I have to thank a lot of people, not because it was that serious, but because they were so nice. There's no more to say about that - I'm not ill."
