Jurgen Klopp is set to recall Simon Mignolet to his team to face Bournemouth live on Sky Sports Premier League.

The Belgian missed the draw with West Brom due to a swollen ankle, with Loris Karius taking the starting spot between the sticks, but Mignolet has been deemed fit for the game at Bournemouth.

Last season's games between the two clubs resulted in 11 goals, with a 2-2 draw at Anfield and a 4-3 win for Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe hopes his side can build on the results from last season as they prepare to host Liverpool.

"Our first thought is always to be positive, take the game to the opposition and to be brave in all aspects of our play. I don't think we should change from that, we have tried the other way and it doesn't suit us," Howe said.

"We have good memories from last year, from both games. We competed in both and the game here will live long in the memory for the character shown by the players. The last 20 minutes is what I was looking for, the atmosphere in the stadium and the resolve from the players was excellent."

The Cherries have scored just once in their last three Premier League games and boss Eddie Howe must find the right combination from Josh King, Callum Wilson, Jermain Defoe and Benik Afobe.

Simon Mignolet is set to return to Liverpool's starting XI and Adam Lallana could also be involved in the contest at the Vitality Stadium.

Goalkeeper Mignolet has recovered from a swollen ankle, while midfielder Lallana, who has made only one appearance this term after suffering a thigh injury in pre-season, should be "ready for the squad at least", boss Jurgen Klopp has said.

Joe Gomez, James Milner and Andrew Robertson are expected to be fit after knocks. Daniel Sturridge (hamstring) remains a doubt, and Alberto Moreno (ankle), Joel Matip (adductor) and Nathaniel Clyne (back) are still unavailable. Emre Can serves a one-match suspension.

Eddie Howe says Liverpool's attacking quartet of Coutinho, Salah, Firmino and Mane are a formidable threat.

Klopp only made 54 changes to his starting XI overall in the whole of the 2016-17 Premier League season - he's already made 11 more this season in 17 games (65).

Liverpool are unbeaten in their last eight games in the Premier League (W5 D3 L0); their longest run without defeat in the competition since November 2016 (11 games).

Liverpool have lost only one of their last 22 Premier League matches against teams outside the 'big six' (W14 D7 L1)

Mohamed Salah could become the first Liverpool player to score 20+ goals in a season - all competitions - since Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge both did so in 2013-14.

Jermain Defoe has scored three goals in his last three Premier League matches against Liverpool, one more than he scored in his first 20 against them (2).

Merson's prediction

What a game this was last year. What Liverpool team is going to turn up this time? Bournemouth will have a go and if Liverpool play their best players they will be in a different class.

Liverpool will win if Jurgen Klopp doesn't complicate things. Who really agrees with that team selection in the derby? It was a joke. That's why he went mad about the penalty.
