All the latest Liverpool transfer news and rumours from across the British and European press on Thursday, January 4.
Liverpool's owners will give Jurgen Klopp the final say on whether Philippe Coutinho leaves the club in January, according to The Times. The report says Fenway Sports Group are willing to accept an offer in the region of £133m, though Klopp would still be allowed to veto it.
Barcelona's squad is divided over the club's imminent signing of Coutinho, according to reports in Spain. Diario Gol claims that some senior players are angry over the salary Coutinho expects to earn - around £10.5m a year - and that Lionel Messi has had to weigh in to play peacemaker.
Liverpool, meanwhile, have identified £90m-rated Monaco man Thomas Lemar as replacement for Philippe Coutinho, reports the Daily Mirror.
Lemar has already chosen to join Liverpool to replace Barcelona-bound Coutinho, according to the Daily Express. The 22-year-old was on the radar of Liverpool last summer, as well as Arsenal, but it now appears Anfield is the preferred choice for the France international.
Liverpool are considering a shock move that would see them sign Alexis Sanchez to replace Philippe Coutinho, according to Don Balon in Spain.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is considering a bid for Roma goalkeeper Alisson, says Football Italia. Alisson is also understood to be interesting PSG and Barcelona and has more than three years left on his current deal.
Manchester United could make a shock move for Emre Can, according to Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport. Can is out of contract at the end of the season and is yet to agree a new deal.
