Trent Alexander-Arnold and Kylian Mbappe are among the 10 nominees for the first Kopa Trophy - awarded to the best U21 player in the world.
Mbappe, 19, is a strong favourite for the award after winning the World Cup with France and scoring 21 goals for Paris Saint-Germain as they completed a domestic treble.
Alexander-Arnold was a mainstay for Liverpool during 2018 - helping them to reach their first Champions League final in 11 years - and was part of the England squad that finished fourth at the World Cup.
Justin Kluivert is in contention after his performances with Ajax last season earned him a move to Serie A club Roma.
Borussia Dortmund's American winger Christian Pulisic has also been nominated for the award.
Meanwhile, AC Milan and Italy duo Gianluigi Donnarumma and Patrick Cutrone have been recognised by panellists for their displays at the San Siro.
