Jurgen Klopp says he will put his Liverpool side through a “pre-season” as they prepare for the Champions League final on June 1.

Liverpool's players have been given this week off to recover from an arduous season in which they pushed Manchester City all the way to the last day in the title race, eventually losing out by one point.

They will reconvene on Monday for a week-long training camp in Marbella - as they did last year before the final in Kiev where they lost 3-1 to Real Madrid - and Klopp says he will put his players through their paces ahead of the showdown with Tottenham at the Wanda Metropolitano.

"We have to do a couple of things in preparation for the Champions League [final], media stuff," Klopp told Liverpool's official website.

"We have to do that, then the boys will have a couple of days off and then we have two proper weeks as a pre-season for the Champions League final.
