Lukasz Fabianski is determined to win over his critics to become Arsenal's No.1 goalkeeper.
Mark Schwarzer has been identified as the Gunners' prime transfer target with Arsene Wenger reportedly keen to find an improvement between the sticks.
Spanish shot-stopper Manuel Almunia, the current first choice, started in the opening day draw at Liverpool but was criticised for not keeping out David Ngog's strike.
But Fabianski has urged Wenger to consider him for the role, having stood in for Almunia at all levels since arriving from Legia Warsaw during May 2007.
"As a player you have to prove you deserve a chance," the Poland international told
Arsenal TV Online.
"I can understand every single shout against me and it can only motivate me to play better and work harder.
"But of course I am going to do everything in my power to show that I deserve to be respected, then maybe they [the Arsenal fans] will start singing my name - that would be wonderful."
The 25-year-old has been guilty of several high-profile errors, including in the 2009 FA Cup semi-final defeat to Chelsea on a birthday to forget at Wembley and also in the UEFA Champions League away to Porto last season.
