Besiktas interested in signing Everton's Davy Klaassen

LIVERPOOL, ENGLAND - AUGUST 12: Davy Klaassen of Everton during the Premier League match between Everton and Stoke City at Goodison Park on August 12, 201

Besiktas are interested in signing Everton midfielder Davy Klaassen, Sky sources understand.

The Turkish club are understood to want Klaassen on an initial loan deal.

The former Ajax captain has struggled to get regular games at Everton since his £23.6m move last June.

The 25-year-old was signed by compatriot Ronald Koeman, who was sacked in October with Everton in the relegation zone, and Klaassen went on to make just seven Premier League appearances last season.

Despite his difficult first season, Klaassen outlined his desire to remain at Everton earlier this week.

"My overall experience at Everton has been good. The club is excellent and the people are very nice," Klaassen told the Liverpool Echo.

"It is an ambitious club and I 100 per cent enjoy being here. I feel at home and am determined to play more for the team."
