Charlton Athletic are in talks with Bolton Wanderers about signing midfielder Liam Feeney, Sky sources understand.
The Addicks have made an offer for the 29-year-old, who joined the Trotters from Millwall on a free transfer in July 2014, following a one-month loan spell with the club in 2013.
Feeney has established himself as a regular in Bolton's first team and has started 62 Championship games since his permanent move, with 78 appearances and seven goals for the club in total.
Charlton are one point and one place above basement side Bolton in the Sky Bet Championship table and are looking to strengthen their squad following the return of Jose Riga as manager.
Bolton boosted their hopes of climbing out of the bottom three with a 3-1 home win over MK Dons on Saturday, with Feeney playing the full 90 minutes.
They are, however, desperate for funds and have received a winding-up petition from HMRC, with the hearing adjourned until February 22.
