Bolton Wanderers have made Jason Lowe their first signing of the summer.
Lowe, who can play in defence or midfield, has signed a two-year deal and moves to the Macron Stadium after leaving fellow Championship club Birmingham City.
Speaking to bwfc.co.uk Lowe said: "It's great to be here. The club has a lot of history and loads of my friends support them. I'm excited to be here and looking forward to getting going.
"There's a great fan base here and I hope we can give them something to shout about this coming season."
The 26-year-old broke into the Blackburn first team, making his Premier League debut at Chelsea in January 2011, before a loan spell at Oldham Athletic.
On returning to Ewood Park, Lowe established himself as a regular and broke into the England U21 side, making 11 appearances.
He became Blackburn captain and played 196 games for the club, moving to Birmingham following Rovers' relegation to League One.
Bolton manager Phil Parkinson said: "I'm really pleased to be welcoming Jason to Bolton Wanderers. He's at a good age and is a player who has captained teams before in the Championship.
"He knows his way around the division and has good leadership qualities."
