Portsmouth midfielder Gareth Evans has been named the PFA Fans' Player of the Month for December in Sky Bet League Two.
Evans, who secured 36.17% of the vote, enjoyed a real purple patch in December, scoring four goals in four League Two games before and during the festive period as Pompey maintained their push towards the top of the table.
First, he struck in Pompey's mid-December mauling of Hartlepool and continued the scoring on the road in the victory at Northampton, before bagging a brace in the 3-2 defeat at Leyton Orient.
The 27-year-old beat off competition from Carlisle strike Jabo Ibehre (36.17%) and Notts County Izale McLeod (12.77%), who were on the final three-man shortlist.
This was reduced from an initial 12-man shortlist including Billy Kee (Accrington), Danny Green (Luton), Francois Zoko (Yeovil), Jerome Okimo (Stevenage), Lawson D'Ath (Northampton), Luke Berry (Cambridge United), Matt Taylor (Bristol Rovers), Paul Benson (Luton) and Rhys Murphy (Crawley).
Every month, throughout the English football season, fans will have the opportunity to vote on skysports.com for who they think has been the best player in the Barclays Premier League, Sky Bet Championship, Sky Bet League One and Sky Bet League Two, after Sky Sports teamed up with the PFA to be the digital platform for the Awards.
Before the vote opens each month, an expert panel produce a shortlist of contenders. Fans are then able to vote for the player they think deserves the award.
The panel includes Sky Sports football pundits Paul Merson, Ian Holloway and Peter Beagrie.
That trio are joined by Mike Riley, general manager of the Professional Game Match Officials, and Malcolm Clarke, chairman of the Football Supporters Federation, as well as the winning fan from each month.
