Spurs youngster targets first team football this season

Tottenham midfielder Jake Livermore is determined to force his way into Harry Redknapp's plans this season. The 21-year-old received glowing reports from the Tottenham chief following his impressive display against Brighton last Saturday, which culminated in him scoring the winner. Livermore has enjoyed spells on loan at Derby, Peterborough, MK Dons, Ipswich and Leeds but now feels ready for first-team action. "I just want to play," he told the club's official website. "The gaffer said I'll get my chance, so I'll take his word for it and continue doing what I'm doing.

Rotation

"There will be plenty of games so hopefully there will be some squad rotation or I will be able to cement a place at some point. "I've had my injuries, had my time out on loan and hopefully this is my time to play." Redknapp has also been impressed by the attitude that his midfield tyro has displayed, and has hinted there could be opportunities for him this coming season. "Jake's a lad with a great attitude, wants to be a player, works hard, is a smashing lad and we hope he has a chance," said the Spurs boss.
