Blackburn will be without defender Ryan Nyambe for Wednesday's Championship clash with Sheffield United.

The 20-year-old suffered a hamstring problem during the second half of the weekend's draw with Nottingham Forest and is set to be assessed later this week.

Captain Charlie Mulgrew, who has missed the last four matches through injury and illness, could return, while Derrick Williams is available again after serving his one-match ban. Rovers have only been beaten once so far in the Championship but have drawn six of their 10 matches and sit 13th in the table.

Fourth-placed Sheffield United continued their fine start to the season with an away win at Millwall at the weekend. Manager Chris Wilder has no new injury problems to contend with but could make changes in a bid to keep his team fresh.

Neither Jake Wright or Kean Bryan has been involved yet this season but both defenders are close to making returns. Bryan has played for the under-23s and is in contention for a place in the squad while Wright is now back on the grass after being sidelined by a broken cheekbone and a back problem.
