John McGinn scored his first goal in English football with a stunning volley against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.
The Scottish midfielder - who made over 100 league appearances for Hibernian before joining Villa in August - drew the Midlands side level with 53 minutes on the clock after Marco Matias had put the Owls in front four minutes earlier.
They soon found themselves back in the game when a headed clearance found the unmarked McGinn who slammed in an utterly breathtaking, swerving 25-yard shot on the volley which cannoned off the bar and into the net.
It proved to be in vain, however, as Steven Fletcher had the final say when he headed home Joey Pelupessy's cross unmarked to secure all three points for Jos Luhukay's men.
