WATCH: Carli Lloyd scores her first goal for Manchester City Women

Carli Lloyd opened her Manchester City Women’s goalscoring account in style on Thursday night.

Lloyd latched on to a measured cross from Jane Ross to head past Maria Christensen in the 36th minute, giving City a 1-0 quarter-final first leg lead over Danish side Fortuna Hjorring in the UEFA Women's Champions League.

The two-time FIFA Women's Player of the Year was playing in just her second game for City since joining the FA WSL 1 and Continental Cup champions on a short-term deal from Houston Dash last month.

Lloyd made a winning start to her City career, helping Nick Cushing's side to a 1-0 win over Reading as they reached the quarter-finals of the Women's FA Cup last Saturday.
