John Stones will miss Manchester City's game at Everton on Saturday due to concussion, manager Pep Guardiola has said.
The defender suffered the injury in England's 1-1 draw with Italy at Wembley on Tuesday.
Stones kept his place in Gareth Southgate's England squad despite finding opportunities limited at City, where Vincent Kompany and Aymeric Laporte have been preferred alongside Nicolas Otamendi in the centre of defence.
Guardiola said due to the protocols in place around head injuries, Stones will miss the game against his former club this weekend.
"He feels really good but the rule is a seven-day job so that is why he is not available," said Guardiola.
Sergio Aguero is "much better" after injuring his knee but Guardiola would not confirm if the striker will be fit enough to play against Everton.
Aguero did not travel to Madrid for Argentina's friendly against Spain on Tuesday to continue his recovery, having undergone intensive treatment in Abu Dhabi on City's recent warm-weather training camp.
Guardiola's side will have the opportunity to win the Premier League title against Manchester United if they match or better United's result on Saturday, with Jose Mourinho's side hosting struggling Swansea at 3pm.
City have the added distraction of the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final against Liverpool on Wednesday to contend with, but Guardiola believes it would be a "big mistake" not to focus on this weekend's fixture.
"I prepare for Everton like it's the most important game we have to play," he said.
