Reigning champions Lyon have reached a record seventh Women's Champions League final after a narrow 1-0 win over Manchester City.

Former City star Lucy Bronze struck in the first half with a brilliant volley to secure victory for Lyon and keep their hopes of a fifth triumph alive.

Manchester City went to the Parc Olympique Lyonnais after a 0-0 draw at the Academy Stadium a week ago but could not find the crucial away goal.

Lyon dominated the early stages and Amandine Henry shot wide before Bronze hit the winner after 17 minutes.

The England right-back punished her old club as she volleyed home Amel Majri's cross.

Henry hit the post as Lyon looked to kill off the tie but they only needed the one goal to progress to the final, where they will play Wolfsburg, who saw off Chelsea.

Later on Sunday, the German giants wrapped up a comfortable 5-1 aggregate win over the Blues with a 2-0 victory in Germany.
