Middlesbrough boss Gordon Strachan has confirmed the club have rejected all approaches for Adam Johnson.
The 22-year-old winger is one of the most sought-after young players in England and a host of clubs are hoping to land him.
Manchester City are one of those who made a firm offer earlier this week, although they are not alone in their pursuit of Johnson with
Sky Sports News sources claiming Sunderland have also made an offer.
However, Strachan is insistent that he wants to keep his top-scorer until the end of the season, when he will then be free to join a club of his choice as his contract expires.
"We have had verbal offers in the last week for Adam, but nothing has changed," said Strachan.
"Adam is still here and I would expect him still to be here for the last 19
games of the season.
"Adam is a terrific, terrific professional and a terrific young man. He is a
credit to his mum and dad."
McManus
Strachan also reiterated his desire to sign Celtic defender Stephen McManus.
"Stephen's name had been mentioned, that's for sure. I am a big fan
of Stephen," he said.
"Stephen doesn't seem to be getting a game at Celtic at the moment.
"It's been widely spoken about in the Scottish papers and people at Celtic as
well, [manager] Tony [Mowbray] saying he can go, and if he can go, then we would love him here."
