Charlton have signed 18-year-old winger Louis Yamfam from Stevenage for fee in the region of £40,000.
The youngster is out of contract with the League Two club next month but the clubs have agreed a fee to avoid deciding compensation via tribunal.
Yamfam had spent the final few weeks of the 2015/16 season on trial at Charlton and has signed a two-year deal at the Valley.
Sky sources understand Brighton and Sheffield United also had a look at Yamfam, who had never made a first-team appearance for Stevenage.
The Hertfordshire club finished 18th in League Two last season after sacking former Manchester United and Tottenham striker Teddy Sheringham as manager halfway through the campaign.
