West Ham expect to complete a deal to sign Javier Hernandez from Bayer Leverkusen "in the next few days", according to Sky sources.

Hammers manager Slaven Bilic is eager to strengthen his attacking options ahead of the new Premier League season and Sky Sports News understands a deal for the Mexico international is edging closer.

Hernandez, who spent five years at Manchester United between 2010 and 2015, has a £13m release clause in his contract at Leverkusen.

From July 18, Sky Sports will be better than ever with a range of new dedicated channels.

Sky Sports News revealed earlier this month that West Ham had held talks with the 29-year-old about a move to the London Stadium, with the club intent on signing at least one forward this summer.

Hernandez has scored 39 times during two seasons with Leverkusen.
