West Ham fail in efforts to change kick-off time for Southampton match ahead of Women's FA Cup final

West Ham have failed to change the kick-off time of their final home game of the 2018/19 Premier League season, after hoping to allow fans time to travel to see their women's side in the FA Cup final.
Manuel Pellegrini's team will play Southampton at the London Stadium in their final 2018/19 season home game as scheduled at 3pm on Saturday, May 4.
Meanwhile, their women's side face Manchester City at Wembley Stadium at 5:30pm on the same day.
The Hammers had initially hoped to move their clash with Ralph Hassenhuttl's Saints to 12:30pm, to allow supporters the chance to arrive at the later game during the evening.
Despite the club's efforts, it was decided that it would not be possible to alter the kick-off time due to the potential inconvenience caused to fans who had already planned their journeys to Wembley and the London Stadium; as well as those who have already bought tickets.
In light of the fixture news, West Ham's club website thanked "all of our loyal supporters and sincerely appreciates the fantastic backing they give to all who pull on the famous claret and blue."
West Ham United Ladies' route to the FA Cup final has included an 8-1 victory against Huddersfield Town in the fifth round, as well as a 3-4 penalty shoot-out victory after a 1-1 draw against Reading to reach the last two.
Last season's FA Women's Premier League plate winners currently lie seventh in the Women's Super League after six wins, two draws and 10 defeats this campaign.
Meanwhile, Manuel Pellegrini's side are 11th in the Premier League with three games to go; the Chilean was left frustrated when Lucas Perez's goal was ruled out for offside during the club's recent 2-2 draw with Leicester City.
You can watch Tottenham vs West Ham from 11.30am on Saturday on Sky Sports Premier League; kick-off 12.30pm.
