Andronikou says current boss might not leave the club

Portsmouth administrator Andrew Andronikou says Avram Grant may yet remain at Fratton Park. Grant is expected to leave the cash-strapped South Coast side this summer after a turbulent spell at the club, and is top of West Ham's list as they search for a new manager. Despite Pompey's problems the Israeli guided them to an FA Cup final and kept the squad together even though off-field problems were dominating the headlines on a daily basis. Grant has maintained that he could stay on if he is given assurances about the club's long-term stability, and Andronikou hopes he might stay. "Avram has not yet decided to go, in fact I think he wants to stay with us," he told the Portsmouth News. "I spoke to him on Monday night and he is still contemplating. The future of this club is still on his mind. "He wants to know the outcome of the CVA (company voluntary arrangement), something I am absolutely confident will go through by the middle of next month.

Chance

"Avram can see that we are moving things forward and, for that reason, I believe we have every chance of keeping him. "I want him to stay, but all this conjecture is putting intense pressure on him. "We had a gentleman's agreement that he would see out the season, now we are in discussions about the next stage. "He has the full support of the club and we want him to remain here." However, with Portsmouth's future far from certain, Andronikou did concede that he would not stand in Grant's way if he decides to leave. "We will not stand in Avram's way," the administrator added. "There is a contract in place, but I have said we are not going to ask for compensation. "We at least owe him that after the tremendous job he has done for this football club."
