Kenny Jackett says he has no plans to bring Crystal Palace defender Matt Lawrence back to Millwall.

Jackett not looking to increase defensive options further

Millwall manager Kenny Jackett says he has no plans to bring Crystal Palace defender Matt Lawrence back to the club. Lawrence spent six years with the Lions before joining Palace in 2006, however, he was placed on the transfer list at Selhurst Park last week. Charlton Athletic have ruled out a bid for the 35-year-old, who has been linked with a loan return to The Den. However, having recently brought Darren Ward back to the club, Jackett is not looking to increase his defensive options further. "Not at the moment because we've obviously taken Darren Ward and are hopeful the likes of Tony Craig and Paul Robinson are back fit soon as well," Jackett told the News Shopper. "We have made approaches at different times for Matt Lawrence when we've been looking for central defenders, but hopefully we are through our injury crisis now."
