Captain John O'Shea and Seb Larsson are among seven high-profile players on Sunderland's released list.

The list, published on the Premier League website, details players out of contract at the end of June as it stands rather than those definitely leaving the relegated club.

O'Shea and long-serving midfielder Larsson are joined on the list by Victor Anichebe, Will Buckley, Jan Kirchhoff, Joleon Lescott and Steven Pienaar.

And defender Sebastian Coates, who has spent the past 18 months on loan at Sporting Lisbon, will join the Portuguese club permanently on July 1.

O'Shea made it clear shortly after Sunderland's relegation was confirmed that he wants to extend his six-year stay, saying: "It's something I definitely want to continue with, but it's not up to me."

But Larsson, who also joined the club in the summer of 2011, said this week he was considering offers and "not looking to downsize".
