Midfielder does not regret taking off shirt in celebration

Ross Wallace has revealed that he does not regret his goal celebration during Sunderland's victory over Reading. The 22-year-old slotted home The Black Cats' second goal and passion got the better of the Scot as he removed his shirt in celebration. In line with the rules, Wallace was booked, a sequence of events which is not unfamiliar to the Sunderland man. It is the third time during his 13 months on Wearside that he has been shown a yellow card for the same offence. Wallace is now bracing himself for financial punishment, but in hindsight he admitted that he does not regret his actions.

Special moment

He said: "It was nice to get my first Premier League goal - a special moment and it turned out to be an important goal. "I will probably get a fine for taking my shirt off, but it's worth it. Hopefully the gaffer agrees. "I don't know why I do it. I don't plan it, it just happens. It won't happen again - the gaffer will probably make sure. "He hasn't said anything to me about it, maybe in training this week. He will just dock my wages instead."
