Tom Huddlestone's proposed move to Udinese from Derby is off, Sky Sports News understands.
The midfielder was in talks with the Serie A club over a permanent move, according to Sky sources, but Derby were unsure on whether they wanted him to leave.
The deal eventually ran out of time, with Huddlestone unable to get to Italy to complete a medical and the necessary paperwork before the Italian transfer window closed at 7pm.
The 32-year-old midfielder has made 19 appearances in all competitions for the Sky Bet Championship side this season.
Huddlestone started his senior career at Derby in 2002, and re-signed for the club in 2017 from Hull City after also playing for Tottenham and Wolves.
Meanwhile, Watford defender Ben Wilmot has joined Udinese on loan for the remainder of the campaign, with the Serie A side currently 16th in the league after four wins this season.
