Southampton have turned down loan offers for Charlie Austin from four Premier League clubs, Sky Sports News understands.
Austin is likely to remain at Southampton after training with the club on Deadline Day.
It is understood he is happy to stay on the south-coast and fight for his place in the Southampton team.
Southampton manager Ralph Hassenhuttl was willing to allow Austin to leave this month, but the club only wanted a permanent deal.
Last week Southampton turned down a £7m bid from a Championship club for him.
Saints are interested in Birmingham City striker Che Adams, but have found no movement in negotiations.
Hassenhuttl said he could not offer first-team guarantees to Austin, and that Southampton were hoping to find a "win-win situation" for both sides.
Manolo Gabbiadini has already left the club this month as Hassenhuttl has looked to trim his squad, with Wesley Hoedt, Steven Davis and Cedric all sent out on loan.
Hassenhuttl added: "We have four or five players for the two striking positions and I think we have a lot of options for these two positions and there are also other players who can play up front.
"It can be a possibility that he [Austin] is leaving but if not then I am happy that he is here and helping us to face our targets."
