Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew felt Everton were lucky to take a point away from Selhurst Park after the two sides drew 0-0.
Everton's James McCarthy was sent off early in the second half in south London, but Roberto Martinez's side dug deep to earn a draw that relieved some of the pressure on their manager.
Both sides could have snatched the win, with Dwight Gayle going close with a first-half bicycle-kick for Palace and Ross Barkley hit the crossbar for Everton, but Pardew felt his side deserved the win.
"They created three or four chances, our goalkeeper had to play well tonight, but they know they were fortunate to come away with a point today," Pardew told Sky Sports.
The Palace manager also called for improvement from his forwards Wilfried Zaha and Yannick Bolasie, both of whom drew a blank.
"We look a stable, strong team, but at the top of the pitch we need to fire a bit more, particularly Bolasie and Zaha," Pardew said.
"Zaha did OK in patches but there are other areas of his game he needs to improve. When those two are firing we are a completely different team and we need to re-energise them."
