FA deadline extended for Burnley midfielder Joey Barton

Joey Barton has had his deadline to respond to FA allegations that he placed 1,260 bets over a 10-year period extended.
Barton's initial deadline was 6pm on Thursday but he applied for an extension and has now been given until close of play on January 31.
The former Manchester City, Newcastle United, Queens Park Rangers and Rangers midfielder was charged last month by the FA with misconduct after claiming he broke rules by betting on football matches or competitions between 26 March 2006 and 13 May 2016.
Barton was also given a one-match ban for breaking Scottish FA rules on gambling in November, the same month he left Rangers.
The 34-year-old admitted breaching the SFA's zero-tolerance rules, which forbid players gambling on any match.
He placed 44 bets on games between July 1, 2016 - when his Ibrox deal started - and September 15.
Barton re-signed for Burnley for the remainder of the season this week but if found guilty, faces a fine and suspension.
