Sampdoria are interested in signing Leicester City’s Croatian striker Andrej Kramaric.

The 24-year-old was signed by Nigel Pearson last January from Croatian side HNK Rijeka for a then club-record transfer fee in excess of £9m.

However, he has struggled to make an impression on new manager Claudio Ranieri and with Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez in superb form, Kramaric has been restricted to just two substitute appearances in the league for Leicester this season.

The arrival of Shinji Okazaki has further limited his opportunities and he is also behind Leonardo Ulloa in the pecking order.

Now Sampdoria - currently 14th in Serie A - are ready to offer Kramaric a way out, with their president Massimo Ferrero confirming the forward is one of a number of players the club are interested in.

Speaking about Sampdoria's January transfer plans, Ferrero said: "I will not sell anyone, everybody will stay and I'll give another two or three gifts to (coach) Vincenzo Montella, as he deserves it.

"We have been following Kramaric for a year now. We could be interested in some Inter defenders."

Sampdoria are the second club in Serie A to publicly state their interest in Kramaric, with Torino having previously gone on record saying they would like to take him on loan in January.
