Leeds v QPR preview
Friday 10 March 2017 16:22, UK
Leeds head coach Garry Monk has Chris Wood and Luke Ayling available again for his side's home clash with QPR.
Wood, who has scored 25 goals this season, was forced to miss Tuesday's 1-1 draw at Fulham with a calf injury, but has returned to training. Ayling missed the midweek trip to London, where Leeds conceded a last-gasp equaliser, due to the birth of his daughter.
Kalvin Phillips serves the first game of a two-match ban following his red card at Craven Cottage, his second of the season.
QPR will have forward Jamie Mackie and defender Joel Lynch available again after they were rested for the midweek win over Barnsley. Midfielder Kazenga LuaLua remains sidelined by an ankle problem and Jordan Cousins (thigh) has also been out, but otherwise manager Ian Holloway has no fresh injury concerns.
Holloway made five changes for the Barnsley game, with the likes of Idrissa Sylla and Yeni Ngbakoto coming into the attack. Conor Washington, Ravel Morrison and Matt Smith are all options, having been on among the substitutes on Tuesday night.
Opta stats
Leeds have only conceded two goals in their last five home league games against QPR (W2 D2 L1), though both came in the most recent two meetings.
QPR are aiming to do the league double over the Whites for the first time since the 1990-91 season, when both sides competed in the top-flight.
Leeds' last win by five clear goals in any game came against QPR in November 2004, when the Whites won 6-1 with Brian Deane netting four.
The Hoops have won four of their last five Championship games (L1), the same number they'd won in their previous 15 since Ian Holloway's return.
Chris Wood has scored a league high 44% of Leeds' goals in the Championship this season (22/50).
QPR's last four games have all ended 2-1 to the home side (three times in their favour), with an own-goal being the winning goal in the last two.
Prutton's prediction
We have seen QPR go away to Reading and Newcastle, and they were really good. They were really well structured and had a clear game-plan. They didn't just defend, they went forward and countered.
It will not be a stroll in the park for Leeds, who have got a couple of players close to suspension in Kyle Bartley and Luke Ayling, so they will have to be careful.
I think it will be really tough. Leeds might be stronger in some departments but not in others because, as happens, they can sometimes be heavily reliant on someone who scores so many goals like Chris Wood.
David Prutton predicts: 2-2 (14/1 with Sky Bet)
