Sheffield United have raided Sky Bet League One promotion rivals Bradford for striker James Hanson.

The Bantams announced on Monday that they had accepted a bid for the 29-year-old and the Blades have wasted little time in securing Hanson on a two-and-a-half-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder told the club's official website: "James gives us something different and we believe there is more to come from him.

"We've seen a lot of him over the years and he is a very difficult striker to play against.

"James has been part of some success at Bradford, he has been part of a winning team and hopefully he is joining another one."
