Nottingham Forest defender Daniel Pinillos is out for the rest of the season with a knee injury.

The left-back came off during the 2-1 home win against MK Dons last weekend and scans have revealed he has ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament.

Forest boss Dougie Freedman could field Danny Fox in his place for Sunday's clash with Leeds United or move Eric Lichaj across to left-back with Michael Mancienne or Kelvin Wilson covering the right side of defence.

Freedman believes his side can deal with Pinillos's absence despite the Spaniard's impressive form since his move from Cordoba last summer.

He said: "It is another setback that we have to deal with. I think we are capable of doing that, but it is a raw one for us, because he was a fantastic signing for us.

"I was proud to have picked him up on a free transfer and for him to have played so many games for us."

Forest, who lie in 15th place in The Championship table, are on a season-best run of five games unbeaten which includes three victories.
