Doncaster v Wigan preview

Doncaster will make a late call on whether Danny Andrew will play against title-chasing Wigan.

The full-back has not featured since August due to a knee injury and boss Darren Ferguson will decide whether to involve him on Friday with Rovers safely in mid-table.

Long-serving midfielder James Coppinger, who has missed the last two games, is a doubt. Tommy Rowe will definitely miss out due to a hamstring injury.

Wigan will be at full strength as they look to secure the League One title in South Yorkshire. Latics blew the chance to confirm they would be going up as champions when they could only draw with AFC Wimbledon last weekend.

That means Shaun MacDonald, who is working his way back from a broken leg and knee injury, and soon-to-be out of contract pair Noel Hunt and David Perkins may not be involved. A point would likely be enough for Paul Cook's side to pip Blackburn to the title due to their far superior goal difference.

Opta stats

Donny have won six consecutive home league meetings with Wigan, scoring 2+ goals in each such match (18 in total).

Wigan, 3-0 winners in the reverse meeting in November, haven't done a league double over Doncaster Rovers since the 1987-88 campaign.

Doncaster have won just two of their last 11 games on the final day (D3 L6), although those two wins have come in past five seasons.

Wigan have lost three of their last four final league games of the season (D1), conceding 3+ goals in three of those four matches.

Paul Cook has lost both of his managerial trips to Doncaster in the Football League, losing as boss at Chesterfield in 2014-15 and Portsmouth last season.

Prutton's prediction

It is Wigan's title to lose at the Keepmoat Stadium. A draw would realistically be enough, regardless of what happens at Blackburn, but they will want to end the season with a win.

Doncaster will be happy with their consolidation in League One this season and they would like to end the campaign with a win at home, but this is a Latics victory and title party all day for me.

David Prutton predicts: 0-2 (13/2 with Sky Bet)
