Huddersfield manager Jan Siewert says his target is still to secure Premier League survival this season, despite his side sitting at the bottom of the table and 14 points from safety.
Siewert is still searching for his first win as Huddersfield manager with the team's last victory coming against Wolves on November 15.
Siewert said: "We have 12 more games left and in each game there's always a chance.
"We're not satisfied with our situation so we can't play with freedom. It's more about the excitement to play the next game.
"We have to work for an aim and our aim is to stay in the Premier League."
The German manager admitted being out the FA Cup has given the team a break that has helped them prepare for the final 12 matches of the season.
"I think it has been quite useful because we can work on things which we had already started," he said.
"On Saturday we had the possibility to play 11-a-side within our squad. We had some academy players who joined us so it was a good time for me to have a good overview."
Huddersfield travel to Newcastle on Saturday where Karlan Grant could make his first start for the club since joining from Charlton in January.
Siewert confirmed that Chris Lowe and Jonas Lossl are back in training having missed Huddersfield's 2-1 loss against Arsenal.
The German is approaching the rest of the season intent on achieving as many points as possible and is looking forward to the challenge of facing Rafael Benitez.
"He [Benitez] won the Champions League once. He's a very experienced coach and manager and I'm looking forward to playing this game against his team. It could be quite exciting to play against his team," said Siewert.
"As long as there's something mathematically possible, I will fight for it.
"Everyday I come here and enjoy working with the people I am working with so everyone deserves it. For us we just keep the fighting spirit."
