Huddersfield have signed attacking midfielder Jamie Paterson from Nottingham Forest on a season-long loan deal with an option to buy.

The 23-year-old began his career at Walsall and made over 100 appearances before moving to Nottingham Forest in July 2013.

He has made 54 appearances for Forest and scored a 15-minute hat-trick against West Ham in the FA Cup in January 2014.

However, his first-team chances have been limited recently and he is now moving north to join their Championship rivals.

Huddersfield boss Chris Powell told the club's website: "Jamie is very different to what we have in our group.

"He has a goal threat and comes here with lots to prove. He also gives us options and hopefully he can produce for us what he has shown he is capable of in patches at Nottingham Forest.

"It is a great opportunity for him and that works for all of us."
