Rotherham United have signed Celtic midfielder Scott Allan on a season-long loan.

The 24-year-old is well known to Millers boss Alan Stubbs, who worked alongside Allan when he was in charge at Hibernian.

Allan came through the ranks at Dundee United and had a loan spell with Forfar before first trying his luck in England when he signed for West Bromwich Albion.

He had further loan stints with Portsmouth (twice), MK Dons and Birmingham City before being signed by Hibs in 2014.

Rotherham, along with Rangers, were reported to be interested in Allan last summer but he opted for a move to Celtic.
